Summertime!

You can see by my ears that I was not too happy about sitting still for this picture. Diesel was wandering around and could not focus long enough to have his taken - besides, his coat is not as elaborate as mine. I got to romp and play after the picture and LOVE my camping trips now! We are going somewhere called The Great Sand Dunes next. Sounds messy to me. Diesel should have a ball.

And they say we are naughty?

I found this picture on Mother's computer. It seems as though the previous canine residents were not as well behaved as Mother and Father like to pretend. And this one, Hamish, was supposedly the best behaved Scottie ever! Hmmmmmm...

You see I am a little disgruntled. Mother came home and Father told her I had been badly behaved. That I would not come in and then I ran circles around the big tree while Father chased me. He said Diesel had been better behaved than me that day! The next day I was barking at the fence at 0500 am. It wasn't my fault. There were venison in the area. You see Angus, who lived here before would understand. He ran a security company in the home that worked 24/7. It is a lot of responsibility for a Scottie, and checking the perimeters is our job. That is all I was doing around the tree. At least I don't have goldfish on my record.

Diesel is ready to go home....

Mother and Father took us on another camping trip... It was OK except it was hot and there were too many bugs, so Mother was grumpy. As you can see in this picture, Diesel was prepared to go home after eating a pine cone and not feeling too well. This is him in the RV. What happened to Diesel's coat? WELL... I am always cautious with my coat, trying to maintain it's color and softness. Diesel does not pay any attention. He tries to get it dirty. That, paired with parents who are hopeless at grooming, meant Diesel got stripped down for the summer. Not to worry, I still have my lush coat and am developing some nice furnishings if I do say so myself. Perhaps our adoptive family should have been screened to make sure they knew how to brush a dog???? I cannot fault them completely, Diesel is a difficult dog to maintain.

Us

I overheard Mother and Father speaking the other day. They were saying what a good boy I am, how if it was just me, I could stay out while they were away because I could be trusted. They said what a pretty coat I had and how easy I was to care for. They said I was one of the BEST Scotties they have EVER had.

They call Diesel "Diesel Weasel Lucky #7." He is the 7th Scottie into the house and Momma says maybe the last. They call him Lucky #7 because he "landed on his paws." He never stops getting into trouble. Yesterday he went into Momma's photography studio and took the baby angel wings she uses and chewed them up. Momma was really mad because she needs these at the hospital to photograph babies who have gone to Heaven. Diesel then went and found an empty yogurt pot and chewed that up. He stuck his tongue and nose in the french onion dip Samuel was eating.  Then he peed in the bedroom.

You can tell in this picture that I am the sweet one in front. It was a much quieter life before Diesel came, but I do LOVE having a brother to play with. I just wish he wasn't such a mess...

Watership Down

We got into more trouble yesterday. Samuel looked outside and saw Diesel with a bunny who was no longer with us. No one knows what happened. Diesel is not coordinated enough to catch one, and I, well, I am not saying anything! Mother and Father are disappointed again. They are talking about returning us to rescue and getting a Chihuahua. Maybe the rabbits should move their warren. Scotties 2, Bunnies 0.

Jett Vs. Elmo

Here I am when I first came to live at my house, setting down some ground rules. I don't think I will be having any more problems with Elmo after I showed him how tough I was.

Mount Rushmore

Here is Diesel at Mount Rushmore. I did not appreciate being held up with traffic passing by, and so, my photograph does not appear in this post. Diesel, well, he doesn't seem to care what happens to him. I am not sure why we stopped to look at these rocks anyway...

Sleepy Sunday...

Papa and I enjoyed a morning nap on the couch, despite the small child creating a racket around us. Why his race cars need to race on a Sunday morning is beyond me. Diesel was napping on Papa's feet, but Mother thought it best to leave him and Papa's underwear out of the picture.
