Me and My Bone...

OK, so it WAS Diesel's bone - Grandma Sally gave it to him when she brought him to live with us from Scottie Rescue. I took it over because Diesel is too busy with shoes, mortgage bills, and Samuel's toys...

Happy First Birthday!

Our 1st Birthday was on Tuesday! It was the same day Momma's first Scottie was born 24 years ago! We had a GREAT party tonight - well, except for having to wear scarves and party hats. Diesel got my scarf and tried to rip it off while it was still on my neck - you can see my reaction in the 4th image. We played HARD in the yard tonight and then had a yummy cake and presents too. No worries, the furry thing in image #2 is a toy - I tore the squeaker out of it soon after we got it. That is me, Jett, in the first picture - I  love chasing a ball and am pretty good at bringing it back. I have BIG shoes to fill, as Angus who used to live here was the BEST at Scottie fetch.

Who Killed Peter Cottontail?

Our parents were horrified. Diesel was found with the remains of a bunny. Mother tried to justify it by saying it was what we were bred to do, but it has been very quiet in our house. We are not allowed to kiss anyone. We were not allowed on laps. We went quietly to bed. I only helped Diesel - he started it. Mother says we must not speak of it any longer. She is distraught. Father keeps washing his hands...

Hanging Out

So dangerous - Diesel hanging out of the window like this. I don't think this is safe, not to mention the wind in your fur. Diesel does not seem to care what his coat looks like...

Monument Valley

What a BIG place. I was happy to get out and stretch my paws. Diesel is covered in dust again and does not even seem to care. Mother says we should not pee in this sacred place, but Diesel did not listen - again.

Grand Canyon

Wow! Now this was worth it! Our first view of the Grand Canyon - it was amazing.

Capitol Reef National Park

Day 2 and I have seen enough dirt, rocks and brush to last throughout my lifetime. As we drove into this park, the trees were covered with big cocoon like objects. They were huge and most unpleasant. Come to find out, they were caterpillars indigenous to this area. Thankfully, we left before having to encounter them.

Goblin Valley

Goblin Valley, Utah. We drove late into the night and arrived around midnight. We had no idea we were sleeping amongst goblins. The small child had fun running amongst the rocks. I found the dust unsettling. Diesel, as you can see, takes no pride in his coat and did not seem to mind.

After a night of camping, it was time for a long, morning walk around the campground - it was cool and cloudy and quite nice. We then got to taste some sausages for breakfast before heading out to explore. The sun eventually came out. Hopefully, we are heading back home now. There is no grass in sight for miles...
